Information wanted on armed robbery suspect in Lee County

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers seeks help from the public to identify a suspect accused of an armed robbery at a Lee County check cashing store.

On Friday, a male suspect was caught on surveillance holding up a cashier at gunpoint at Advance America on Palm Beach Boulevard.

According to the Crime Stoppers press release, the robbery happened just after 3:30 p.m. The suspect demanded money from the cashier while pointing a gun at them. As the suspect was fleeing form the scene, he removed the landline telephone at the business.

Witnesses told Crime Stoppers the suspect walked across the parking lot to a nearby 7-Eleven convenience store and then fled the area altogether on foot.

The amount of money stolen was left undisclosed in the Crime Stoppers press release.

Crime Stoppers is asking anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the suspect to contact them at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All calls remain anonymous and can be eligible for a $3,000 cash reward. The public can also send tips to the SWFL Crime Stopper website or through the P3Tips mobile app.
