For the first time, we are hearing from Sen. Marco Rubio on the Mueller Report. This, as more Democrats are calling for impeachment proceedings to begin against President Donald Trump in the wake of the investigation.

Sen. Rubio stopped by a Sanibel Island landmark on some excellent news – awarding them with a congressional record. But he did not shy away from making his feelings known about the Mueller Report. He stands behind the president and wants the country to move forward.

Touring Bailey’s General Store on Sanibel Island days after the Mueller Report’s release, Sen. Rubio said he read through it and did not find anything surprising.

“It confirms what I long believed going back to October, September of 2016 that the Russians undertook a concerted effort to not just sow division in our country,” Rubio said.  “But to interfere in the elections and debates, we had about the election.”

After the report found no criminal conspiracy with Russia and no evidence of obstruction by the president, Rubio said he understands the president’s frustration through this process.

“You saw how the president was so annoyed by it that he felt that this investigation took away from his ability to govern this country,” Rubio said, “and it’s an understandable frustration.”

Rubio brushed off the notion that the Democrats call for the entire report is necessary. He believes it was appropriately redacted.

But Democrats worried by the president’s attempts to thwart the investigation and conduct in the White House have them calling for his impeachment. It is something Rubio said does not make sense.

“President Trump not going to be impeached,” Rubio said. “It really doesn’t make sense. If people don’t like the president and they don’t agree with him, they’ll have an election next year. The American people can judge that.”
