A North Fort Myers community is in fear because they said a dog has already killed some of their pets.

While the dog is behind a fence, neighbors question its effectiveness. The four-legged animal, Bam Bam, can hop right over the fence, then attack other dogs.

Sandy Ramirez brought little Claudia with her from Mexico.

“She was everything to me,” Ramirez said. “She was my baby.”

But in January, her dog was ripped to pieces. Ramirez blames Bam Bam.

“The dog got out of his yard and just ran right behind her,” Ramirez said. “It killed her right then and there in that instant.”

Claudia is not alone. Several other neighbors said their dogs lost their lives to Bam Bam.

“The dog has killed five other dogs in my area,” Mckenzie Connolly said. “The other day he jumped the fence and I saw him attack another dog.”

Lee County said they could not do much because when they show up Bam Bam is on his property. Neighbors need to sign a sworn statement explaining what they saw. But there is a lack of communication impeding a potential solution.

Neighbors said it is only a matter of time before Bam Bam moves onto a vulnerable person.

“I couldn’t imagine if that dog got a hold of one of my kids or anyone’s kids!” Shainna Connolly said.
