As the deadline to file your taxes approaches, some people are worried about getting them in on time.

If you think you are one of the ones who may not make the deadline, you can always file for an extension.

Filing for an extension gives you extra time to file, but not extra time to pay. After you file an extension, if you owe taxes when you file your return, you might also have to pay penalties and interest on the tax due.

To file for an extension by the deadline of April 15, visit the IRS website here and fill out the 4868 tax extension form.
