New video of burglars who are still on the run in Southwest Florida shows them punching out nearly a dozen car windows, then diving inside to steal everything they can get their hands on.

Neighbors in San Carlos Park said they would not feel safe until these smash and grabs come to an end.

Ron North believes in high tech protection for his home and family. Now, his San Carlos Park neighbors hope North’s $4,500 investment pays off.

His cameras recorded a video of thieves walking up and down the street looking into his car with a flashlight.

“I think that they decided not to mess with these,” North said. “Hopefully it’s what they thought. Vehicles, as they could see, they both had alarms on them, the lights were flashing that they figured if they hit one of those it’s going to set alarms off, which will shorten up their time.”
