Police release new surveillance video connected to shooting at Cape Coral Yacht Club

On Sunday, April 8, 2019, Cape Coral Police responded to a call for service in reference to a shooting that occurred at the Cape Coral Yacht Club, 5818 Driftwood Pkwy.

Surveillance video is released by police after a man was shot at the Cape Coral Yacht Club Sunday.

The victims drove to at the Cape Coral Yacht Club to walk on the beach in the evening. While they were walking down the sidewalk towards the Tiki Bar restaurant they were approached by two men.

According to police, the men started making inappropriate and sexual comments toward the female victim.

The men then pushed the two victims and one punched the male victim.

The woman yelled for help and a bystander came from the beach area to help separate everyone.

The two men walked off and the victims walked back to their car to leave.

As the victims started to drive out the main entrance of the Yacht Club they saw both men standing in the median of the roadway.

One of the men walked up to the driver’s side of the car as they were driving by, pulled a handgun, pointed it at the male victim and fired one round. The victim was grazed by the bullet, leaving a wound on the left side of his abdomen.

Police say the timeframe of this incident was on Sunday April 7, around 8:15 pm.
