Naples man dies after van strikes a tree, ejecting the driver

A Naples man died Sunday morning after his van overturned and struck a tree ejecting him from the vehicle.

Mateusz Repa, 19, was traveling north on Interstate 75 near MM 119 in the center lane with a passenger, Frank Cucitro, 40, per the Florida Highway Patrol press release. Suddenly, his GMC Savana veered off the roadway, struck an embankment, overturned and hit a tree.

Both the Repa and Cucitro were ejected from the van. Rep was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Cucitro was seriously injured and taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.
