Lee County deputies responded to the report of a possibly stolen U-Haul in Lehigh Acres Tuesday, but when they opened it up they found dogs, lots of them.

Neighbors say 16 dogs, which all appear to be of the same breed, were found inside the truck.

Other neighbors in the area say they were aware the homeowners had dogs but they had no idea it was that many.

So far one person has been arrested on unknown charges.

Both the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and domestic animal services say an investigation is still pending.

The dogs are now inside the home but we’re told by neighbors they will be moved Thursday.

WINK News is still uncovering more details on the investigation.
