Keeping your children safe from sexual predators who could offend again.
The best way to know if a sexual predator is in your neighborhood is to look it up online.
“Check the registry to see who’s around,” said Scott Johnson, a forensic psychologist. “But also keep an eye out for suspicious behavior. Some adult or even someone in their 20’s that is spending a lot of time with children trying to play with them, interact with them. That would be something to call 911 for and at least let the officers investigate that because that’s one of the chief ways they get away with it is nobody reports it until after the fact.”
As parents or guardians, be aware of what your kids are doing and who is around. Communicate with your children, and make sure they are comfortable talking to you.
