According to The Boston Globe, pitcher Chris Sale is close to solidifying a five-year contract extension Friday, which would keep him playing home games at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts through 2024. The deal is reportedly worth an estimated $145 million. Sale, originally from Lakeland, made a name for himself in Southwest Florida as a member of the FGCU Eagles baseball team.
