Corona, Heineken, and Budweiser… a thirsty thief stole hundreds of dollars worth of all three types of beer. Collier County sheriff’s deputies said it all happened at a Walmart on Collier Boulevard. The guy walked out of the store with a full cart three separate times.

On Thursday, Collier County Sheriff’s Office arrested Gerard Antonio Intindola, 55, of Naples after they said he stole $500 in beer from Walmart in Collier County.

The accused man used the garden center as his exit each time. He loaded his truck up three times before anyone noticed what he was doing.

“I’m astonished that somebody would do that three times,” John Dalessandro said. “He should’ve quit while he was ahead. Greed, that’s one of the deadly sins, right?”

According to the arrest report, Intindola filled his cart with nine cases of beer at one point.

“She just checked my receipt for buying this TV, so how could they not check the same guy coming in and out three times?” Dennise Cardona said. “Hey, you know what’s going on here; that’s just really weird. That’s crazy”

Walmart told WINK News in a statement, “As a responsible seller of alcohol, we take this seriously. We’re working with law enforcement on this matter.”

“Some people get a thrill out of that,” Cardona said. “It’s like an addiction. They get an adrenaline rush, and that’s addicting.”

This was not Intindola’s first time stealing. He stole a 65-inch television along with a whole bunch of meat underneath it in October 2018. He also stole over $1,000 of tools from a Lowe’s in February.

Intindola faces charges for four counts of Grand Theft for items between $300 – $5,000.

He is in jail on $15,000 bail. His scheduled court date is in April.

“Security should be a little better here I would think,” Dalessandro said. “If he was stealing food, I would say maybe his family had to eat. But you know what, to steal beer like that, they were just into a party.”
