Pasco County Sheriff Captain rescues worker going into cardiac arrest

Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says Sheriff Captain Christoper Beaman sprang into action to save a private contractor who went into sudden cardiac arrest while working on a roof.

According to a tweet from Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, A team of private contractors was working on replacing the roof of the building when one of the workers went into sudden cardiac arrest.

Sheriff Captain Beaman started CPR and hooked up the worker to an automated external defibrillator (AED) delivering a shock to the patient.

Firefighters from E-22, R-23, Squad 1, and Ladder 37 arrived on the scene to assist with the patient. Firefighters were able to obtain a pulse, and the patient was conscious and breathing on the roof.

The worker was rigged to a stokes basket and was safely lowered from the roof and taken to receive medical attention.
