Weather causes dangerous driving conditions across SWFL

Wet conditions led to multiple crashes across Southwest Florida Tuesday. One Cape Coral body shop had at least four damaged cars from weather-related crashes.

When there are breaks in the rain, it can bring oil out of the pavement making driving more difficult for some.

While the puddles and wet roads were an annoyance for many, it was a welcoming sight for Cape Collision Center.

“I already have two wrecks that have been picked up that are waiting to get towed in,” said Peter Dellaporta, owner of Cape Collision Center. “We had two vehicles waiting here for us when we got here.”

There were close to a dozen car crashes Cape Coral Police responded to since 4 a.m. Five of those crashes came with injuries.

As we become closer to the official start of the rainy season, it is an opportune time to check your car for maintenance.
