Residents at the Horizons apartment complex say they are uneasy following a shooting that took place near the complex.

“I’m freaked out, I’m very freaked out and in a couple of days, I’ll be moving out of my apartment,” said a resident of the complex.

Fort Myers Police say Tyrone Robinson, 25, was found on the ground with gunshot wounds at the apartment located at 5348 Summerlin Road, just after 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Another neighbor, who requested anonymity, said she is friends with Robinson. She said the he was visiting his mother and someone shot him three times. One shot in the stomach, a second in his chest and a third in his left leg.

Officers provided aid to Robinson until he was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital by paramedics.

The shooting remains an active investigation. Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact Detective Emily DeStefanis at (239) 321-8011 or by email at edestefanis@fmpolice.com.
