A Cape Coral murder suspect has been charged Wednesday after maliciously and repeatedly contacting a police employee.

The suspect, Ryan Doyon, 29, faces a Stalking charge, which is a First Degree Misdemeanor.

The victim, a Cape Coral Police Dept. employee, received over 30 phone calls and dozens of text messages Sunday evening. CCPD suspects a connection with Doyon’s upcoming homicide trail where the employee assisted in the investigation.

In multiple text messages, Doyon demanded the employee call him back immediately. In one message, Doyon states, “You scared to answer the phone.” Later on, the press release states, he would write, “if you do not call me ASAP I am going to bring out my entire statement on live television with your real name for ruining my life…”

Doyon has been known to have access to multiple firearms. The CCPD press release states the suspect is a firearm enthusiast and has a propensity for violence.

Doyan is in Lee County Jail.
