Photo via CBS News. There was a fatal hit-and-run crash at Palm Beach Boulevard and Fairfax Drive in Fort Myers, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. According to a press release from FHP, a pedestrian was laying on State Road 80 between the right lane and right turn lane when a vehicle ran over the pedestrian before speeding off from the scene. The release also says a second vehicle ran over the pedestrian in the middle of the road, but made a U-turn and returned to check on the victim. The model of the car that sped from the scene is unknown, but is being described as a silver sedan. FHP’s press release also indicates that additional cars may have ran over the pedestrian before leaving the scene. A traffic homicide investigation is ongoing, and more details will be provided as we are informed.
