A human trafficking sting takes a dedicated law enforcement effort and time.

Time is needed to develop the intelligence, which includes tracking down communication with the people trying to take advantage of the trafficking victims and time to get undercover agents assembled and trained.

Then, you need to set up the sting, which includes cameras, appointments and locations lined up.

The most important thing to remember: This human trafficking bust isn’t an isolated incident.

Human trafficking happens 365 days a year in every community in the U.S.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security opened over 1,000 cases of trafficking in 2016. This led to 2,000 arrests.
