Estero man identified after fatal crash on Three Oaks Parkway

An Estero man died in an early-morning crash that set a car aflame.

Florida Highway Patrol confirmed Darryl Paulauskis, 46, died after his car struck a palm tree then engulfed in flames in Estero early Sunday.

According to the press release, Paulauskis was traveling northbound on Three Oaks Parkway toward the intersection with Williams Road when his 1999 Cadillac DeVille veered off the roadway to the east and entered a grassy shoulder striking a palm tree.

According to the press release, that’s when the car set on fire, and Paulauskis was pronounced dead on scene by responding authorities.

According to the press release, the time of incident was 1 a.m.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
