The victim told police a physical altercation had occurred. The suspect, David Garnell Price Jr, 36, pointed a black handgun to the back of the victim’s head, then walked out of the residence, according to a Cape Coral Police report.

Before the officers arrived on scene, Price fled in a Chrysler 300 through a neighborhood.

At one point of the chase, the suspect increased the speed of the vehicle to 110 mph. But he soon lost control, skidding into the shoulder of the road, damaging the car’s tires and suspension.

The Chrysler again fled traveling northbound on NE 24th Ave until the the vehicle finally stopped at the intersection of Kismet Pkwy and NE 24th Ave, the press release states.

Price was taken into custody without incident.

A check of his driver’s license revealed that it was suspended indefinitely for failure to pay a traffic fine.

Price was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Battery, Driving While License Suspended, Reckless Driving, and Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement.
