Photo by WINK News. Cape Coral City Council members continued to move toward approving beer and wine sale at Sun Splash Family Water Park at a special meeting Monday. The council decided they would vote on a one-year trial program at the next council meeting on Feb. 11. Community members at the meeting are divided on the idea of serving alcohol at the community water park. A presentation on the revenue and safety protocols put in place persuaded some council maembers. The presentation said the park would gain nearly $7,000 in daily revenue. There would be a two-drink maximum enforced by security cameras and trained personnel and several park improvements. If the park sold 400 drinks per day, it would make about $186,000 a year. The park wants to use the profit to help pay for maintenance and new amenities.
