Companies offer discounts to teachers, military and first responders

Did you pay too much for that car you just rented or shirt you just bought? You might have. Some businesses offer discounts to shoppers just for working in certain industries. WINK News found out what some of the jobs are and how to get those deals.

If you’re a teacher, first responder or in the military, a lot of business want to help you make ends meet.

  • Next time you’re at the mall or shopping online, ask a clerk if they offer a discount, and search online for promo codes.
  • As for your cellphone bill, some major companies offer discounts on both service plans and accessories
  • Finally, if you want to get away, most rental car companies offer a decent chuck of change off, and admission costs to certain parks or attractions may be waived.

Other big companies also offer employee discounts on things like cellphone bills. Double check with human resources.

Some entities with offers for teachers include Apple, Dell, LOFT, Columbia, Barnes & Noble, The Container Store, Bose, and Adobe.

Some entities with offers for military and first responders include Royal Caribbean, Sandals, Oakley, Apple, Under Armour, Yeti, Ford, and Celebrity Cruises.

Cellphone discounts employers may offer include AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, and T-Mobile.
