An Immokalee man is accused of attempting to kidnap two women as well as beating and choking the women as they resisted before he fled the scene, according to law enforcement.

A deputy placed Alexander Manzano, 31, under arrest at a traffic stop shortly after the alleged incident. He also matched the description of a similar attempted kidnapping earlier that day, where he was accused of trying to take the woman by sheer force.

Manzano faces two charges of Kidnapping, one count of Battery and one count of Aggregated Assault With Deadly Weapon.

In the second incident, the victim was walking down the 200 block of S 3rd St. in Immokalee Friday when a white pick-up truck pulled up behind her.

Manzano, the driver, exited the vehicle, approached her from behind and grabbed the victim in a choke hold, according to the arrest report.

Manzano attempted to drag her toward his truck, but the victim resisted. Manzano tightened his hold on the woman’s neck and punched her, which sent her to the ground.

According to the arrest report, a driver passing by stopped and called for help. When Manzano saw the vehicle, he fled the scene.

CCSO later arrested him two blocks from the scene on Immokalee Rd. and W Delaware Ave. The victim from the second incident would later identify him as she is seeking to press charges. She said she had severe pain in her head and neck and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Manzano has been transported to Immokalee Jail Center.
