Fort Myers Police officer injured in brawl outside bar, 3 arrested

An officer was injured during a brawl outside Fly Lounge in Fort Myers early Friday morning, according to Fort Myers Police.

According to a report, FMPD officers were monitoring patrons outside Fly Lounge, at 2158 Colonial Boulevard, during closing as a large crowd was leaving the club around 1:45 a.m.

While in the parking lot police say several people started fighting and police intervened.

During the incident, one officer was knocked to the ground and struck his head. He was treated at Lee Memorial Hospital and released.

Three men were arrested; Michael Ashley, 22, and Hector Bellino, 20, face charges of Breach of Peace. Additionally, Jerry Galety, 20, faces charges of Resisting an Officer without Violence.

The suspects were transported to the Lee County Jail without further incident.
