LCSO arrests the last suspect from a Circle K robbery

A follow-up investigation has determined the identity and location of the third and last suspect from a robbery.

Shane Matthew Calden, 25, faces charges of Robbery with a Firearm and Petit Theft by Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

On Nov. 21 around 3:12 a.m., Cape Coral Police responded to the scene at 1829 Skyline Blvd, which is the location of a Circle K, in regards to a robbery with a firearm.

One man retrieved a handgun from a backpack and proceeded to enter the convenience store with another male, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office press release. These two men had their faces concealed with bandanas.

The men fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Cape Coral Police Department Major Crimes Unit investigated the robbery. It had assistance with tips through Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, helping police identify and apprehend the two suspects — Jose Antonio Lopez Jr, 20-years-old, and Nikolas Tyler Mako, 18-years-old.

The Major Crimes Unit Detective T. Kortright determine that there was a third male involved as the get-a-way driver, per the press release. On December 12, 2018, Kortright was able to locate and arrest Shane Matthew Calden for his participation in the robbery.

Calden is currently in Lee County Jail.
