Cape Coral police need help identifying a man who attempted to return merchandise he didn’t buy for money at a Lowe’s store in November.

Around 3:00 p.m. November 30, a man walked into the Lowe’s at 1651 NE Pine Island Rd.

He went to the vacuum aisle where he placed a Shark steam mop and a Bissell pet hair eraser into his cart. He then took the items out of the boxes and headed to the customer service desk where he attempted to get a refund for the items claiming he had already purchased them, police said.

The clerk said they needed his license for the refund. The man claimed that he left his license in his vehicle and left with the items and did not return, police said.
