Zbick’s fascination with George H.W. Bush started when he was working as a journalist in eastern Pennsylvania.

“I did a newspaper column on George Bush, on his military career especially, and because of that column I received a personal note from George that he enjoyed the column,” Zbick said. “And the autographed note just gave me a really good feeling.”

The feeling, and his collection, grew from there and now Zbick has priceless memories, honoring a one-of-a-kind man.

Zbick says he’ll remember 41 for his loyalty to our country, and his family.

A man whose life taught us about service and dedication, and a man who in the midst of life back in 1994 took the time out of his prolific life to write a letter.

The letter reads, “Your words about my public service were generous, and I appreciate you taking the time to write. It was a privilege to serve as President and I will always be grateful to the American people for affording me that opportunity.”

Signed, “George Bush.”

If you’d like to check out any of Zbick’s collected items, they are currently on display at the Southwest Florida Military Museum and Library in Cape Coral.
