A Charlotte County man who was severely injured during a crash in November has died.

The crash happened Sunday, Nov. 25. Schmidt was driving his motorcycle westbound on Appleton Boulevard toward Bay State Drive, where he was traveling behind a car.

As Schmidt began passing from the left of the car in front of him, the car made a left turn onto Bay State Drive.

Schmidt tried to avoid the car, but hit the front of it with his motorcycle, which caused him to lose control and sent him crashing into heavy vegetation southwest of the intersection.
