FGCU basketball player makes NBA debut with Denver Nuggets
After a record-setting start to his post-collegiate career, one former FGCU basketball player will be returning to the state as an NBA player.
Brandon Goodwin will play against the Orlando Magic as a member of the Denver Nuggets Wednesday, Dec. 5.
“My agent called me and told me ‘Get ready to go to Denver,’ and everything just changed in a matter of 24 hours,” Goodwin said.
Goodwin established himself as one of the best mid-major basketball players during his two seasons with the FGCU men’s basketball team and was named ASUN Player of the Year during that time.

Goodwin began his professional career in the NBA G League with the Memphis Hustle, setting the single-game scoring record with 36 points during a game against the Northern Arizona Suns.
The former FGCU player, who wore 0 on his jersey for the Eagles, will wear 6 on the back of his jersey with the Nuggets.
Goodwin’s debut game will come against the Toronto Raptors Monday, Dec. 1 before the Nuggets travel to Orlando for the Wednesday game at 7 p.m.
