Police responded to the crash on October 24 around 10:49 p.m. A 17-year-old girl and a 18-year-old boy were hit by a vehicle at the corner of SW 17th Place and SW 32nd Street, according to the Cape Coral Police Department. Investigators determined that a car was making a turn but cut too soon and drove into the grass, striking and injuring both teenagers. One of the victims had to be taken to the hospital, police said. The driver, Allicia Marie Harrington, 39, stopped and talked to the teenagers after the crash, but when one of them said they were calling the police, she got back in her car and fled the scene, police said. Police located Harrington November 26 after collecting evidence and fielding tips from the community. Harrington had made an insurance claim about the damage to her car which had already been repaired. Harrington did not report her crash to police. She was arrested for two felony counts of hit and run with injury.
