A rare condition called Acute Flaccid Myelitis or A-F-M has affected dozens of children across the United States this fall. There have now been 106 confirmed cases in 29 states. While the number of patients affected by this rare, polio-like illness is low, the sudden onset and relative lack of knowledge about the disease is concerning.
