FHP: Teen who hit and killed 5-year-old didn’t have a driver’s license

A 17-year-old who ran a stop sign and killed a 5-year-old boy in Lehigh Acres didn’t have a driver’s license, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say charges are pending against the teen and alcohol is not considered to be a factor in the crash.

FHP says the crash happened at the corner of Gunnery Road and Sunset Road in Lehigh Acres, where the teenager ran the stop sign and killed Connor Green, 5, when he slammed into the side of the family’s car.

Two other occupants of the car, Reagan Green, 2, Ashley Green, 33, have non-life threatening injuries, according to FHP.

The crash is still under investigation.
