People who live in southern Lee County will no longer have to drive 15 minutes away during an emergency.

The new Lee Health facility will help patients 24 hours a day right in the heart of in Estero.

Ken Kinnear lives in Estero and likes to live healthy, so he says it’s wonderful to have a new facility opening at Coconut Point.

“I go clear to Naples now for my medical help and hospital work,” he said, which is quite a drive for him and his neighbors.

The new facility is jam-packed with new state of the art health technology that will make treatment much easier including brand new operating rooms with 4K televisions, the highest resolution surgeons can get when they’re working on you.

Dr. Larry Antonucci, is the president and CEO of Lee Health and he says he believes they are delivering in a big way.

“Having a 24/7 ER, surgery center, physicians offices, imaging, and lab gives them that care close to home which is so important nowaday,” he said.

And it’s customers like Kinnear that he hopes will benefit the most from the 163-thousand square foot health and wellness center.

“I very much think it’s a good thing for the community,” Antonucci said.

A community that is growing in size and demand for quality healthcare.

Lee Health plans to start treating patients in Estero the first week of December.
