Seafood Festival sign of recovery in Everglades City

Published:

Everglades City was one of the hardest hit by Hurricane Irma. Hundreds of people were forced to leave their homes. Five months later, the community is rebuilding and plans to come out out of the disaster stronger than before. This weekend will be the 48th Everglades Seafood Festival. WINK News anchor Michelle Mackonochie sat down with Mayor Howie Grimm who says the festival shows just how far his community has come.

The festival is being held outside Everglades City Hall. The event starts at 5 p.m. on Friday and continues through Sunday.
