Firefighter injured at scene of Naples structure fire

A firefighter suffered an apparent injury at the scene of an apartment fire in Naples.

The fire started Thursday afternoon at 1395 Curlew Avenue. The injured firefighter was transported by Collier County EMS.

The fire chief says the firefighter was injured after an apparent fall while battling the blaze.

Neighbors say that only one firefighter was injured. He remains in the hospital with unknown injuries.

It took several hours for firefighters to get the fire under control. At one point, the flames got up to 12 feet tall. They also dealt with several flare-ups.

According to those on the scene, everyone made it out of the apartment building safely.
