Armed robbers hit Extra Space Storage in North Fort Myers

Two men are wanted in connection with an armed robbery that took place Monday morning at Extra Storage Space on Hancock Bridge Parkway, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

The armed robbery happened just before 11 a.m. at the storage facility on 4150 Hancock Bridge Pkwy. No. 38. when two men walked in wearing guns and ski masks, according to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.

The first suspect locked the door and the second allegedly ordered the clerk to tell them where the safe was, according to Crime Stoppers. When the victim responded there was no safe, he was instructed to tell them where the money was and was led to a back room where he was asked again about the safe, but he responded with the same answer.

The suspects then took a digital video recorder, cash, a DVR system and several checks made out to Extra Storage Space, Crime Stoppers said.

The first suspect is described as a 5’8′ male, weighing 180 pounds, wearing a black ski mas, black long sleeve button up shirt, black pants, and black gloves with a black pistol, according to Crime Stoppers.

The second suspect was described as a man between 5’11” and 6’0″ with a skinny build, wearing also wearing a black ski mask, a tan long sleeve button up shirt, blue jeans, black Nike sneakers, and black gloves with a black handgun, Crime Stoppers said.
