Two people were critically hurt Sunday night after a hit-and-run near Jefferson Street, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The pedestrians were walking around 9 p.m. on the shoulder of Southeast First Avenue when a vehicle –believed to be a white sedan– failed to see them and struck both people, according to the FHP. The vehicle then fled the scene southbound on Southeast First Avenue following the collision. Anyone with information on the wreck should call the FHP at 239-938-1800.
