Two people were involved in a shooting Monday night on Kentucky Avenue, according to the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office. The shooting happened at around 9 p.m. at a parking lot area on Kentucky Avenue and 10th Street, deputies said. Donald Johnson, 26, of Clewiston, was found laying on the ground with a gunshot wound, deputies said. Johnson was taken to Hendry Regional Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. A second victim was transported to the emergency room and did not appear to have been injured, deputies said. The circumstances leading up to the shooting were unclear.
