There was a misunderstanding with a stranger danger situation reported Thursday at a home on Robert Avenue, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies were searching for an older man with white hair driving an early 2000s Dodge Durango and found the driver at a traffic stop. The driver was picking his grandchildren up from the bus stop when he saw a child playing in the road, according to the sheriff’s office investigation. He told her to move away from the street so she would not get hit by a car. There was a language barrier between the two, according to investigators.
