Piper Road expansion project begins in Charlotte County

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. Closures are underway in Charlotte County as crews begin a multi-million dollar construction project.

Piper Road previously ended on Henry Street, but soon it will connect all the way through US 17. The Piper Road expansion project is scheduled to be completed in 2019.

WINK News reporter Kristi Gross explains why some residents say dealing with the detours will be worth it in the end.
