PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. Free tarps will be available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Charlotte County officials are distributing the tarps given to them as surplus from FEMA. Each vehicle that comes to the Charlotte County Administration Center on 18500 Murdock Circle will get two 20-foot by 25-foot tarps while supplies last, county officials said. The giveaway is separate from FEMA’s Operation Blue Roof program in which people sign up at sites around Southwest Florida to authorize government employees and contractors to come onto their property to install tarps.
