FORT MYERS, Fla. A 27-year-old man was found guilty of improper exhibition of a firearm at a McDonald’s restaurant, according to the state attorney’s office.

William Jesus Rodriguez-Diaz became upset about his order and barged behind the counter of the restaurant in January, the state attorney’s office said. Rodriguez-Diaz confronted an employee and demanded to speak to a manager.

Rodriguez-Diaz said he was going to stand his ground and pulled out a gun after the manager asked him to leave, the state attorney’s office said.

The manager called the Lee Sheriff’s Office after he got Rodriguez-Diaz to calm down and leave, the state attorney’s office said. Rodriguez-Diaz called 911 after he left and told officials he had been attacked at the restaurant and told them his name and home address.

Rodriguez-Diaz was found at a park near his home with the gun in his car, the state attorney’s office said.

He has not yet been sentenced.
