WASHINGTON Hurricane recovery is expected to be among the topics Friday when President Donald Trump and Gov. Rick Scott meet for lunch at the White House.

Scott and Trump will also discuss repairs to the aging Herbert Hoover Dike that surrounds Lake Okeechobee, Scott’s office said.

Trump has promised federal funds to repair the dike, and Scott has called on Florida lawmakers for a similar commitment.

Hurricane Irma pushed the lake to its second highest water level in the last 10 years, prompting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to release potentially harmful water into the Caloosahatchee and St. Lucie rivers.

Scott’s visit to Washington comes on the heels of his trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he toured Hurricane Maria damage and met with the Puerto Rican governor.
