SWFL helps its own: List of food, water distribution sites

FORT MYERS, Fla. Food, water and other supplies are being handed out free at several locations in Southwest Florida.

Lee County

The Harry Chapin Food Bank will distribute water, non-perishable items, produce, and disaster meal kits from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday in a parking lot at 3800 Fowler St. in Fort Myers.

The Bonita Springs Assistance Office is distributing the following food items starting at 9:30 a.m. Friday at 25300 Bernwood Drive No. 6 in Bonita Springs:

  • Bagged salad mix
  • Fresh peaches
  • Fresh plums
  • Kellogg’s snacks
  • Granola bars
  • Bottled water cases

The Harry Chapin Food Bank will have mobile pantries this week at the following locations:

  • 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Goodwill Store, 8951 Bonita Beach Road, Bonita Springs on Sunday Sept. 24
  • 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 7240 Concourse Dr., Fort Myers on Sunday Sept. 24
  •  4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Lehigh Acres Middle School, 104 Arthur Ave., Lehigh Acres on Tuesday Sept. 26

Snacks, water, electricity, air conditioning and children’s movies are offered at City First Church on 121 Del Prado Blvd. S., Cape Coral.

Blue roof tarps are available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Lowe’s on 8040 Dani Drive in Fort Myers.

Collier County

Hamburgers, chicken, water, sterilizer spray, baby wipes and more will be handed out from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25 at the Truly Nolen Marco Island service office on 931 N. Collier Blvd.

The Harry Chapin Food Bank will operate mobile food pantries at the following times and locations:

  • 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Golden Gate Community Center, 4701 Golden Gate Pkwy., Naples on Monday Sept. 25
  • 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Pinecrest Elementary School, 313 9th St., Immokalee on Tuesday Sept. 26

The Harry Chapin Food Bank also has a donation center open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at the Immokalee Warehouse at 908 Roberts Avenue W.

Recovery assistance will be provided by a nonprofit organization to help residents with tarps on their roofs, cutting trees or disaster cleanup at their homes. For more information, call 954-834-3605.
Food and water are available from sunrise to sunset daily at the following locations:
  • Barron Collier High School, 5600 Cougar Drive, North Naples
  • Immokalee Farmers Market, 424 New Market Road, Immokalee
  • Margood Harbor Park, Pear Tree Avenue, Goodland
  • Ochopee Fire Control District Station No. 60, 201 Buckner Ave. N., Everglades City
  • Station #10 on 21520 Immokalee Rd., Estates

Botted water and places to sit down in air conditioning are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily here:

  • Collier Museum at Government Center, 3331 U.S. 41 E., East Naples
  • Naples Depot Museum, 1051 5th Ave. S., Naples
  • North Collier Regional Park, 15000 Livingston Road, North Naples
  • Max Hasse Community Park, 3390 Golden Gate Blvd. W., Golden Gate Estates
  • South Immokalee Park, 418 School Drive, Immokalee
First Baptist Church Naples has the following items available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily while supplies last at the church on 3000 Orange Blossom Drive:
  • Food packages (one per family represented)
  • Bottle water (one case per family member)
  • Baby supplies (diapers, wipes, formula)
  • Toilet paper
  • Paper towels
  • Hygiene kits
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Pet food

Donated food and water are available for those who need it at several sites in Immokalee, Collier County emergency officials said.

The sites are listed below:

• 110 South Second St. in the dirt parking lot across from the Coalition of Immokalee Farm Workers
• 424 New Market Road near the vegetable market
• Farm Workers Village at 2225 Chadwick Circle
• Immokalee Friendship House, 602 W. Main St.
• East Immokalee, 310 Alachua St.
• Living World Family Church at 10910 Immokalee Road
• Immokalee Haitian Free Methodist at 312 Eustis Ave.
• Immokalee Church of the Nazarene, 1207 Carson Road
• Immokalee Community School at 123 N. Fourth St.

Addresses weren’t provided for the following pickup sites:

• Central Immokalee in the area of Taylor Street
• Central Immokalee in the area of Barber Street
• West Immokalee in the area of Miraham Drive and Miraham Terrace

Catholic Charities has relief centers set up at the following locations:

  • 2210 Santa Barbara Blvd., Naples
  • 211 S. 9th St., Immokalee

The Army National Guard will be handing out free water and meals at the following drive-up locations:

  • Barron Collier High School on 5600 Cougar Drive, North Naples (no ice available)
  • Immokalee State Farmers Market on 424 New Market Road, Immokalee (no ice available)
  • Margood Harbor Park on Pear Tree Avenue, Goodland (no ice available)
  • Ochopee Fire Control District Station #60 on 201 Buckner Ave. N., Everglades City (no ice available)

Cooling centers will offer bottled water and air conditioned area for people to sit, cool down and hydrate from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the following locations:

  • North Collier Regional Park on 15000 Livingston Road, North Naples
  • Max Hasse Community Park on 3390 Golden Gate Blvd. W., Golden Gate Estates
  • South Immokalee Park on 418 School Drive, Immokalee

Hendry County

Hendry County is providing sites for food, water, ice, and tarp distribution from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or until supplies run out:

  • Emergency Operations Center Warehouse, 840 Kennedy Blvd., LaBelle
  • John Boy Auditorium, 100 Sugarland Pkwy., Clewiston
  • Felda Community Center, 1100 Country Road 830, Felda
  • Montura Ranch Estate Clubhouse, 255 N. Hacienda St., Clewiston
  • Pioneer Community Center, 910 Panama Ave., Clewiston
  • Sugarland Park on 100 Sugarland Pkwy., Clewiston

Catholic Charities has a relief center set up at 208 N. Deane Duff Ave. in Clewiston.

Glades County

Catholic Charities has a relief center set up at 24065 U.S. 27 in Moore Haven.

The county has distribution sites set up at the Road Department on 4883 E State Road 78 in Moore Haven and the Muse Fire Department on 1125 Rainbow Road.

DeSoto County

Water, food and tarps are available at the Turner Center from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily on 2250 NE Roan St. in Arcadia and Nocatee Elementary School on 4846 SW Shores Ave., Arcadia.

Catholic Charities has a relief center set up at 1210 East Oak St. in Arcadia.

Highlands County

Catholic Charities has a relief center set up at 170 Sun n’ Lake Blvd. in Lake Placid
