Flooding closes several major DeSoto County roads

ARCADIA, Fla. Flooding closed several roads in DeSoto County Tuesday morning, DeSoto County emergency management officials said.

The following state roads are closed:

  • U.S. 17 northbound at Fish Branch Road in Arcadia
  • U.S. 17 northbound at Southwest Fletcher Street in Arcadia
  • State Road 70 westbound near North Orange Avenue in Arcadia
  • State Road 70 westbound at DeSoto Avenue in Arcadia
  • State Road 70 eastbound before County Line Road

The following roads are closed:

  • Citrus Avenue
  • Masters Avenue by Northeast Voss Oaks Circle Masters Avenue
  • Hansel Northeast Avenue in Arcadia
  • Hull Road in Arcadia
  • Reynolds Street in Arcaida
  • Kings Highway at the Horse Creek Bridge in Arcadia

Water is on the following roads:

  • Northwest Pine Wood Avenue in Arcadia
  • Owens School Road in Arcaida
  • Brown Road west of Hansel Avenue in Arcadia
  • County Road 760 in Arcadia
  • Airport Road in Arcadia
  • Brown Road and County Road 760 East in Arcada
  • Lily Avenue in Arcadia
