Several DeSoto County roads closed, flooded after Hurricane Irma

ARCADIA, Fla. The aftermath of Hurricane Irma has closed the following roads, DeSoto County emergency management officials said:

  • Citrus Street (in Orange Heights)
  • Masters by Voss Oaks
  • Hansel North
  • Hull Road
  • Reynolds
  • Kings Highway at the Horse Creek Bridge – Due to other closures, the only detour for this is to take Airport Road to County Road 760A to U.S. 17 to County Road 761 back to Kings Highway if heading south to Port Charlotte. Reverse these directions heading north to Arcadia.

The following roads are flooded but remain open:

  • Northwest Pine Wood Avenue
  • Owens School Road
  • Brown Road West of Hansel
  • County 760 and Airport Road
  • Brown Road and County Road 760 East
  • Lily Avenue
