Thefts have taken place since January in Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Port St. Lucie and Jupiter. “We believe the thieves are part of a highly organized crime ring targeting specific tires and batteries on FPL trucks,” the company said in a statement. “When thieves steal from FPL, they are effectively stealing from all of our customers by raising the costs of doing business – which means everyone eventually pays.” Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to contact law enforcement.
