Pedestrian hospitalized in Fort Myers hit-and-run

FORT MYERS, Fla. A 55-year-old man was hospitalized Thursday night following a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Orange River Boulevard and Palm Lane, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred around 8:39 p.m. David Tracy, of Fort Myers, was hit by an unknown driver making a left-hand turn from Palm Lane as he was crossing Orange River Boulevard, the FHP said.

Tracy was dragged by the vehicle for several feet before the driver fled the scene.

He was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, according to the FHP.

The vehicle was described as a large gold or silver SUV.
