District advisory council votes in favor of building new school in Gateway

FORT MYERS, Fla. A new high school is one step closer to becoming a reality.

The Lee County school district’s advisory council voted 39-12 Tuesday night in favor of building a new high school in the Gateway community.

The district also considered a site in Alva at the corner of Joel Boulevard and Tuckahoe Road.

The site selection committee will be presented with the two properties and vote on May 4.
