Fort Myers mayor, police chief, city manager subpoenaed to testify in ‘Lake Boyz’ case

FORT MYERS, Fla. Fort Myers Mayor Randy Henderson, Fort Myers Police Chief Derrick Diggs, city manager Saeed Kazemi and several others were handed subpoenas at Wednesday night’s meeting on violence at Dunbar High School to testify during the trial of an accused “Lake Boyz” gang member.

A Wilbur Smith Law Firm lawyer representing Jonathan Griffin handed the subpoenas just after the meeting ended.

Jonathan Griffin was one of the 21 men arrested earlier this year following a lengthy investigation into the Harlem Lakes-based gang. He has been in custody since January on a $1 million bond, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Griffin’s trial is scheduled for April 10.
