Hillsborough County men face charges in deadly crash

WIMAUMA, Fla. Two men were arrested Friday after fleeing the scene of a deadly crash, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened at approximately 1 a.m. Oscar Lopez-Yesca was driving southbound on U.S. Route 301 approaching Bishop Road in Hillsborough County. He was traveling with 22-year-old Moliton Ramirez-Mati and another passenger. Lopez-Yesca lost control of the vehicle and drove off the roadway onto an outside shoulder. He then collided into several trees before coming to a final stop, FHP said.

Lopez-Yesca and Ramirez-Mati both fled the scene leaving behind the unidentified passenger who later succumbed to her injuries, according to the FHP.

The two men were arrested and taken to Hillsborough County Jail. They are facing charges for leaving the scene of a crash involving a death, driving without a license involving a death, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle, FHP said.
